Friday - Spent the day doing last minute shopping and packing for our annual trip with our cousins. Every year since I passed my test at 17 I have driven my sister and our 4 cousins to a different part of the UK to spend a week together on holiday. That first year was the scariest our 2 youngest cousins were only 4 and 20months and I was the responsible adult!! Yikes. Our other 2 cousins are only a couple of years younger than me so it was not too stressful but I am certainly glad that we are all older now and that both the 2 older ones and my sister can take turns driving.
Thursday - It is good to finally be back home! We loved our whirlwind trip of South East Asia but we spent a lot of time travelling and that can be fairly tiring. We have had a busy Summer so far and we have one more trip before it ends.
Wednesday - Day 9 - During a 2 hour stop-over in Brisbane we decided to get changed into slightly warmer clothes in preparation for arriving home in 23 hours!!
Tuesday - Day 8 - This evening we attended a dinner outside. We were again given pretty floral headbands. We enjoyed traditional food and watched local dances. Then we were given a grass skirt and encouraged to join in the dancing. We had a wonderful final evening of our trip!
Tuesday - Day 8 - Flew to the tiny island of Tuvalu this morning. We received another traditional welcome and were given a floral headband to wear. We got to see a coconut tree that was planted by the Queen in 1982. We visited a school where we took part in demonstrations in crafts and cooking and then watched a canoe race.
